The best and easiest explanation of solar power your going to find any were. Complete break down of how to size your system and actual power requirements and usages. If your new to solar you NEED to watch this video!!!

I often wondered why more people haven't used wind power on top the RV as well. When the sun isn't shining go for a drive the windmill would charge as you were driving along and charging when ever the wind was blowing

You done good! Thank You!

There is a jump in vid at 7:30… Not sure where the new calculation came from right after u said total of 85 watts

Fridge…

Hey I think you explained it very well, I understood it easily thinking it was going to be hard so thanks

yeah…would have been better if his math had been correct….50+30+15=95…NOT 45….

Looking running small heater in 12 × 12 greenhouse. Would this be answer or only few hours? Tks

Portable heater

hMM, i THINK I need a few mentors to keep me in line!! 🙂

👍

Best explanation ever…right up until you started explaining it 👌

Granny in Uk would like to thank you for making it so much easier to understand. Lets go Eco! Nice one!

I am a woman this helps to understand solar so thanks

I enjoyed your presentation. Well done IMO. I know more now than I did before

Thank you facing what is expected to be a colder winter than last one in Wisconsin. remembering people dying in Texas last winter.

Regarding energy loss on a big inverter…is it only a larger loss if you are running higher wattage items off it? I was thinking an oversized inverter, say 10k watts to runn a simple pellet stove (say 1000 watts to start, 200 to run) would not incur much loss. I'd have flexibility to run an item with higher demands if necessary and room to grow the system.

Have you tackled the 2, 6 volt battery theory yet? How will it perform compared to a 12 volt system?

Thank u, title is accurate

I appreciate the clear explanation of solar power. So how many watts does it take to run an average American refrigerator? That's all I'm worried about running.

Thank you!! This really helps!!!

thanks I got the gist and that is more than I had before.

Any powers better than none.

You can learn as you go..if you can run a freezer your a surviver..dvd are luxury you dont need.

Best to watch this over a few times..in 5 minutes. Chunks..and write it down as you go..dont move on till understand each part..

your arithmetic is all right, but the draw of a device is say, 30 watts, not watts per hour, which doesn't mean anything in this context. if it goes for an hour it uses 30 watt hours, a measure of energy. watts is a measure of power, where p*t=e.

the panel puts out 100 watts. in ten hours that adds up to a kilowatt hour. there is loss in the wire and the inverter, and the ratings of the devices may not be accurate, but an approximation. if you use less, it should add about that much to the battery and vice versa.

check your search engine for "units arithmetic" to see how you know you are calculating what you think you are.

The left are spraying chemtrails to block the sun so we wont have no power period!!😡😳

good job thanks

Thanks info

Thank you sir.

Thanks for the explanation. It was very easy for me to understand how to do the calculation for how much power I'm going to need if I wanted to run full solar. I use my electric bill to see how much I use on average for the year month and was able to calculate it down to how much I use per day. I'm no genius and that's why I came here.

Guessing what the amps are, is really very misleading. I appreciate your desire to simplify things, but use actual wattage and actual amperage, the rest gets confusing because your not actually showing the reality of the usage, just a pretend estimate. Keep everything based upon your original numbers, of wattage and solar panel use. Grow your example

Secondly, you got us primed for the 100 watt solar panel delivering 80 watts, then you jump to this pretend usage that is 95 watts when added up which we could never use on the original example. This is not keeping things simply when you change the primary established voltage and jump ahead to a pretend one without bridging the gap from where you came from to where you went.

Really how hard would it have been to have stuck with the original voltage of 80 watts an hour and then fit your voltage use into that 80 watts, along with spending just a minute to get the actual amperage from those three device's so we could a real life example of what your trying to explain. When you start bouncing around with different numbers and example's you start losing people, cause they get loss in the change of numbers and example's. Thanks for the effort, better luck next time.

There's a lot of useful information here, but good God Almighty, speed it up a little.

I am sure his maths are totally BOLLOXED

Excuse me……That is “An Hour”

Why wouldn't you use led its only draws about 7 watts per hour

Good 👍

50 plus 30 plus 15 is 95 times 3 is 285. but who am i .. iam more cornfused now.

Learn to multiply and subtract b4 next video

Thanks so much . God bless you . I live in South Africa . This is such a big Help

Great info, thanks. And the hell with those with negative comments. You helped a bunch of us get a better understanding of solar, the number of panels we need and volts vs Watts. Most importantly and want more solar charging power coming in. I’ll be a one or two day user of the cargo trailer running a TV, phone, laptop and maybe a couple of fans. And they won’t be used at the same time. I’m thinking 2 panels, 2 batteries in series and a 3000w inverter. Pretty sunny in central GA.

I appreciate all this info and, as far as the math and spelling skills they are not what is important. The important thing was getting us to understand how to figure it out, and you did a great job. Thank you.

Outstanding video for the newby !! Take ya by the hand Grassroots electrical solar math tutorial !! Love your sense of humor too! The 1K negative comments are solar snobs who don't remember when they had to crawl before walking! THANK YOU !!!

Bad math

This is a great simple explanation! 👍👍👍

Thanks!!!

300-45=255

Amps x volts = watts. This alone makes this video gold. It also embarrasses me I didn’t know that. But now I do. 😂 Thanks!

Thank you

Great Video… Thank you so much.
